Dr. Emily Bussey
After growing up in Ponca City, Dr. Emily Bussey married her high school sweetheart, Jason. They have four daughters: Marielle, Vivian, Lucia and Corinne. While not at work, Dr. Bussey spends most of her free time with her family, crafting, and cooking from scratch.
Before becoming a mom and business owner, Dr. Emily Bussey graduated from Oklahoma State University and the Southern College of Optometry. She later ventured to Bartlesville in 2010 where she purchased a 25-year-old practice from Dr. Jerry Carter. This practice was then transformed into the steppingstones of the Bussey Eyecare Center we know and love today. Dr. Bussey envisions a practice where ALL members of the family are taken care of, from infants to the elderly. She believes that her work allows her to change lives every day. “I absolutely love my job – what could be more rewarding than helping people see and enjoy the world around them?
Dr. Caitlyn Mefford
Dr. Caitlyn Mefford became interested in eyecare after her younger brother was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes and she saw how significantly it affected his eyes. She began studying the eyes and realized how connected the eyes are to the whole body and how many systemic diseases manifest in the eyes. This led her in optometry school to an interest in ocular disease treatment and management, especially in the geriatric population. She is thankful to be able to go work every day and not only help people see but also encourage them to live healthier lives.
While in optometry school at the Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Dr. Mefford represented her school nationally as the American Optometric Student Association Trustee. She graduated summa cum laude and was named one of the top clinicians of her class. She also is a long time resident and graduate of Nowata High School, and of Northeastern State University.
She married her high school sweetheart, Austin, in 2017 and has since moved back to the country close to where they both grew up. In her free time, Mefford and her husband like to hike, kayak and hang with their pup, Ella. Dr. Mefford is excited to be serving the population of people she grew up around!
Dr. Caitlin Chevalier
Dr. Caitlin Chevalier was born and raised in Catoosa, OK, and graduated from Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow. Growing up, she became passionate about being involved in church and mission work. Through mission trips from Mexico to Mozambique, she decided to become an optometrist so she could provide eye services to her community and on future mission trips.
While attending optometry school, she met her now husband, Judson, who is an optometrist in Owasso. Together, they have two daughters, Briar and Macy. They enjoy staying busy with soccer games, family trips, and their church.
After 5 years as a provider and clinical professor with the Cherokee Nation Rural Eye Program, Dr. Chevalier specializes in ocular disease management including diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. With a background in clinical education, she enjoys teaching patients the importance of various treatments and regular eye exams to maintain optimal vision and quality of life.
Dr. Lillian McEntire
Dr. Lillian McEntire was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas and went on to graduate from University of Central Arkansas, where she became passionate about serving others. During this time, she was able to work as an optometric technician with a local optometrist and see firsthand how lives can be impacted by quality eye care. She went on to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. In her spare time, Dr. McEntire enjoys reading novels and running. She joined Bussey Eyecare Center in January 2024 and is excited to continue providing quality eye care here in Bartlesville.
